For years, Trish worked as a florist, a job that she enjoyed, but lacked the community and opportunity for growth she always aspired to have. For Trish, the dream that became a reality was the Alice’s Table Exec Program. In the past year she’s hosted over 40 fabulous events, and has grown her business so much that she’s even received national press. We’ve loved getting to know Trish over the past year - learning how she stays so positive, watching her grow her business, and hearing why she finally knows she’s found her “dream job”.
I have always had a strong passion for flowers and design. A few years ago I decided to take a design class at Longwood Gardens and give starting my own floral arranging business a go. Slowly, my business started to grow (mostly by word of mouth!) and so I was trying to figure out how I could grow with it. Almost like fate, my sister saw Alice’s Table on Shark Tank and told me that I had to look into the opportunity. So, I watched the episode and reached out to HQ the next day! My first event was March 2018, and the rest is history!
Getting over the mindset of waiting for the right time to launch. There will never be the perfect time, and you will never be fully prepared. You just need to be passionate about what you are doing. If you love flowers and believe in everything AT stands for, it will show through at each class and you will be successful. There is a learning curve, and not every event will be a smashing success, but you will grow and learn with each event. Know that you will stumble along the way, but as a wise person once said, just fake it till you make it!
For me, it’s not one specific moment, but the end of each class when we all gather to take a fun group photo. The look on everyone’s face as they hold their arrangements and truly feel proud of what they created is amazing. I really believe that an Alice’s Table event is an experience - learning a new skill, enjoying new and old friends, and creating a gorgeous floral arrangement to go home with.
I decided to become a mentor because I feel very confident in my new business and believe that I will continue to grow. I want to share my knowledge with others and encourage women of all ages to go for it. I know that together we can be better. There is so much business to go around and I wholeheartedly support community over competition.
Wine, always wine. Especially, Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc!
I love to use themes to make the evening memorable. Whether it’s a specific holiday or just a simple color scheme, I tie the flowers in with the food and cocktails. Also, never forget the candles!
Eating at one of the delicious spots nearby! Philly and it’s suburbs are home to some of the best restaurants, and of course, cheesesteaks!
Ranunculus! Who isn’t obsessed with them?
