It’s the start of summer and that means flower market season is upon us. There’s no better season, if you ask us. Our friend Gabi Valladares, blogger gal over at bygabriella.co, has been gallivanting around Europe for a month and found a new favorite flower market. After seeing these blooms, we’re thinking it’s one of our new favorite flower markets, too!
“Instead of staying in Amsterdam for our month in Europe, we opted for a nearby smaller city. One where we would fully be immersed in Dutch culture, where tourists (like us!) were harder to come by, and where we could live like locals - at least for a few weeks.”
“Utrecht was as lovely as can be. It was filled with cyclists who had priority on the street (sorry, drivers!), alfresco dining, and most importantly - lots of flowers! On our first weekend in Utrecht, we discovered that the city had a local flower market on weekends. Naturally, we visited right away.”
We love finding floral inspiration all over the world, and are especially smitten with this little local flower market in Utrecht that Gabi happened upon. “We quickly discovered during our time in the Netherlands that the floral arrangements sure are something special. Even the bouquets in the carts around the neighborhood are simply divine. They’ve got all kinds of flowers, and create these larger than life arrangements that somehow look as though each one was carefully crafted with someone special in mind.”
Now that surely sounds like the perfect way to spend a weekend - shopping outdoors for flowers in the sun. We hope your summer is full of flower arranging - and hopefully even a trip to Europe!
