Following the successful launch of our events in Boston, we’re rolling out our Event Host Program nationwide. To celebrate, we're introducing our At the Table series with our San Francisco Host, Charlotte! Joining the Event Host Program this Fall, Charlotte has taken on the Alice's Table lifestyle full swing, bringing blooms to the West Coast. After an amazing first event last week, she's sharing why joining our team was the perfect match for her family! First things first...why did you decide to join the Alice's Table Event Host program?I joined the Alice’s Table Event Host program because I am intrigued with the idea of putting on curated experiences like hosting a flower arranging events in unique spaces. As a mom to a one year old, I was looking for a creative opportunity to have a flexible schedule to spend more time with my daughter. My daughter loves trips to San Francisco Flower Mart and as well as critiquing (trying to eat!) my flower arrangements. What's your #ATmoment?I was incredibly nervous for my first flower arranging class at Minted Local but my nerves were instantly calmed when one of my guests turned to me and said, “I am having so much fun.” That is what Alice’s Table is all about. Getting together to learn something new and have a unique and fun experience. What would you tell someone who is thinking about joining AT and needs that extra boost?Starting a new venture is always scary but with the support of the AT team, you can start your own business and succeed and have fun doing so! No matter what direction you take your AT business, at the end of the day everyone loves flowers. I could not think of a better job than to spend your days playing around with beautiful blooms and sharing your skills with the people around you. Favorite Flower?Hydrangea. My bridal bouquet was made entirely of vibrant blue hydrangea, which always reminds me of summers spent on Cape Cod. Cocktail of choice?A true California girl, I do not have one favorite cocktail but I do have a favorite winery. I love the Pinot Noir for Scribe Winery in Sonoma, CA. What's your best entertaining tip? They key to the perfect bloody mary is to not use ice cubes because it waters down your bloody mary and no one likes a watery mary. Instead of ice cubes, simply freeze tomato juice, lemon juice, lime juice, and a dash of tabasco in an ice tray and voila, you will have the most delicious bloody mary from start to finish. Favorite thing to do in San Francisco? There is nothing more quintessential North Bay than shucking oysters on the bay at Hog Island Oysters in Marshall, CA. Shucking oysters at communal tables, enjoying local bread and cheeses paired with local libations, a day at Hog Island Oysters is a must-do when in the Bay Area! *** Learn more about our Alice's Table Host program here! |
