What To Expect

The flower arranging can take anywhere from one to two hours, depending on the complexity and format of the arrangement. Alice’s Table provides aprons for you to wear for the duration of the event. Working with flowers can be messy, so make sure to wear something you won’t mind getting a little dirty.

What Should I Bring?

You don’t need to bring anything out of the ordinary with you - we provide the flowers, vases, and tools you will need to create your arrangement.

About the Venue

Houmas House Plantation and Gardens, between Baton Rouge and New Orleans, allows visitors to experience the life of a wealthy Sugar Baron in the 1800s. Tour the historic Louisiana Plantation and explore 38 acres of lush gardens. Houmas House Plantation, one of the South’s oldest and most beautiful plantation estates, is the home of Latil’s Landing Restaurant, The Carriage House Restaurant, Café Burnside, The Turtle Bar and The Wine Cellars of Houmas House. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are available daily in both casual and fine dining settings. Each menu is updated seasonally to reflect the availability of locally grown produce, providing a true farm-to-table experience. Both tourists and locals enjoy the quaint feeling of the intimate settings each restaurant and The Turtle Bar provide. It’s easy to imagine dining in the 1830’s when using exact replicas of the original china used by General Wade Hampton. Reservations are recommended for Latil’s Landing and The Carriage House Restaurant.
