Inspiration comes in many forms. Still life paintings are just one of the lasting art forms that inspire us to learn, stretch our imaginations and create something unique. Artists have been capturing still life scenes since the Renaissance. In the 1600s, Dutch and Flemish artists created timeless images of flowers, tables clad with drooping table cloths and pitchers of cold water, wine bottles, fruit and even musical instruments to tell a story. Create a beautiful fresh floral arrangement to use in this workshop. Use simple set ups, props such as fruits, wine and other Dutch inspired items as part of our still life photography creation. Learn a basic still life layout, use of lighting and capturing style using your own DSLR camera or cell phone camera! Take home your floral creation, as well as photos and new knowledge to create your own piece of art! Enjoy wine and other refreshments as we work. Join us at the table! Your Host: Angela Rabena
This Maryland native has called Northern Virginia home for over 20 years. She is the mother of three children. She became very passionate about health and fitness after the birth of her children and the passing of her mother from ovarian cancer. Angela is a fitness instructor in Ashburn, Virginia, trained in many modalities (barre, Pilates, CrossFit). Beside her fitness passion, she enjoys international travel. At 47 she considers her life in full bloom. Angela is excited to be a part of Alice’s Table because it allows her a creative outlet, which she felt was missing over the years as a stay at home Mom. The workshops are a great way to integrate Angela’s passion for human connection and healthy living. Angela enjoys being a host to friends and family in her home. She feels that she can extend her ability to create a warm and enjoyable creative experience during the workshop. Angela is a natural teacher and looks forward to teaching other women some new skills and provide them with a creative outlet.
