The Frosé Recipes Our Office Is Obsessed With

July 17, 2019

Confession: We love rosé. Okay, actually it’s not much of a confession because if you take one look at our Instagram feed and (office, oh yes) refrigerator they will tell you that we’re loving the rosé-all-day moto. And since we’re smack dab in the middle of the official season of summer water, we’re welcoming any sight of the light pink drink.

The warm season is relatively short here in Boston, so we’re always looking for ways to spice up cocktail hour. Enter, our new best friend, Frosé. If you’re anything like us, we still dream of those ice cold slushies - sans blue tongue - on a hot summer's day. So, we’re here to say that just because we’re a bit older (age is just a number baby) it doesn’t mean we have to forgo the classic childhood treat - in fact, we may even argue that this drink tops the classic (sorry, Slush Puppie!).

The Classic Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 750 ml bottle sparkling rosé
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 8 ounces strawberries, hulled, quartered
  • 2½ ounces fresh lemon juice

Directions

  1. At least six hours before you plan on serving the cocktail, pour Rosé 3/4 bottle into a pan and freeze until almost solid.
  2. Bring sugar and ½ cup water to a boil in a medium saucepan and stir constantly, until the sugar dissolves. Add strawberries, remove from heat, and let sit 30 minutes. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a small bowl, cover, and chill until cold.
  3. Scrape the rosé mixture into a blender, add lemon juice, 3½ ounces strawberry syrup, 1 cup crushed ice and remaining rosé. Purée until smooth.
  4. Transfer blender jar to freezer and freeze until frosé is is slushy and pour into glasses. Enjoy!
