Alice’s Joyous Life RoundupOctober 12, 2018
I can't believe it's already Friday! The long weekend made this week totally fly by! I kicked off the week on Nantucket with good friends, before jumping on a plane early Tuesday morning to Atlanta for a very special event at SPANX (more on that below!). It has been one heck of a week.
As much as I love the hustle and bustle, I always set aside a quiet hour or so a week (this time on the plane) to read, reflect and find inspiration for the days ahead. I am a firm believer that we cannot build unless we have space to dream! Here are a few of the places I wandered to this week.
What I Love From Around the Web…
I was so excited to hear about Donna Strickland’s achievements. A big step in the right direction for women and girls in STEM roles.
I'm currently designing my home office, so I am always looking for inspiration - I love how Melissa Johnson incorporated her brand and messaging so much into her work space! Let's be real though - my office will be WAY more messy. I blame it on my creative nature.
I was recently introduced to the Second Life podcast, and it’s quickly become part of my weekly routine. This week’s episode really resonated with me as Amanda Hesser (Founder of Food 52) talks about finding a purpose through your passions.
No matter where your travels are taking you this fall, these six unique destinations are sure to give you your fair share of fall harvest festivities!
Happenings at HQ
This Tuesday, I headed to the SPANX HQ in Atlanta to host an Alice’s Table event for the SPANX employees alongside our investor, and amazing female entrepreneur, Sara Blakley! Check out some of the fun pictures.
I was so fortunate to have lunch with Sara and chat business. Her best advice? "Find your lane (what you are best at) and stick to it!" As you grow, hire people to fill in the gaps.
A Parting Note
What a way to celebrate International Day of the Girl! I am so excited to see what Michelle Obama and the Global Girls Alliance are able to achieve! I have to admit I have watched that video too many times ... amazing!
