Floral Boutonnieres For Every Style

June 19, 2017

For most brides, it's easy to only focus on the blooms you and your bridesmaids will be holding when you walk down the aisle. But on this special day, it's important to not forget your future hubby’s accessory too! While boutonnieres have become a traditional part of the wedding ensemble, their original meaning was to symbolize a groom’s dedication to the bride. Ever wonder why they’re placed on the left side? That's where the heart is -- swoon!

Although these accessories are small, it's important to make sure your chosen boutonniere matches the groom and groomsmen's personality. Traditionally, boutonnieres are composed of flowers, but these days you see all sorts of boutonnieres featuring meaningful elements that bring joy to the couple. We’ve selected a few of our favorites styles so the groom won’t be left out of the floral fun!

Billy Balls

Perfect for the playful and whimsical wedding, billy balls grow in a beautiful yellow color that adds texture to any boutonniere. Pair with a few stems of dusty miller and chamomile, and wrap in twine for an effortless sunny accessory.

The Wild Side

Whether you're planning a rustic-themed wedding or simply love less curated designs, wildflowers are the perfect way to shake things up. With hundreds of varieties available, it’s easy to choose a selection that matches your desired floral palette -- a choose your own adventure of sorts! We love chamomile, lupins, lavender, buttercups, and even fennel!

Go Green

Often thought of for wintery weddings, we love using a seasonal selection of greenery to create beautiful boutonnieres year round. For spring and summer weddings mini succulents (trust us on this one!) and white ranunculus pair perfectly with a navy suit. In the winter and fall months, we love mixing traditional pine sprigs, eucalyptus, and white berries for a classic look.

Ranunculus

As roses have shown, sometimes all you need is one show stopping flower. However, we love stepping away from tradition, to use a just as beautiful bloom that packs an unexpected colorful punch. Ranunculus is perfect for the man who loves to stand out and isn’t afraid to flash a pop of color. Vibrant pink and orange varieties instantly dress up a black suit and add an unexpected textural element. Use one flower or use a couple -- this bloom can easily match any groom’s personality
