At the Table with AmandaNovember 27, 2017
Meet our Northern Michigan Exec Amanda! After six years as a stay at home mom, we welcomed her to the team in June, to start her career outside the home while being able to prioritize being a Mom first. Below she’s dishing on some of her favorite things, and why joining our program was the perfect match for her family!
First things first...why did you decide to join the Alice's Table Event Exec program?
I had been looking for an opportunity to work while still being able to stay home with my kids, most of the time. I had kind of resigned myself to the idea that I couldn’t possibly find something that I enjoyed AND that gave me the flexibility that I was seeking. Imagine my surprise when I found out about Alice’s Table! I get to be creative and social, and still be a stay at home mom.
What's your #ATMoment?
My favorite #ATmoment was when at my first event I had 3 guests sign up for my next event right on the spot! To have such positive feedback absolutely keeps me moving forward.
What would you tell someone who is thinking about joining AT and needs that extra boost?
If I can do it, anyone can do it! Your own limitations are the only thing holding you back. People absolutely love the Alice’s Table concept and if you get excited about it other people will too! Not to mention, the Alice’s Table community is so welcoming, encouraging and supportive. Alice’s Table comes with a built-in cheering section!
Flower: I love to garden, so my favorite flower also happens to be one that I grow, Knock Out Roses. As far as roses go, they’re probably the least fancy variety. But they bloom continually throughout the season and they smell exactly how you’d imagine a rose to smell, heavenly.
Cocktail: Dark and stormy - Ginger beer, dark rum, lots of lime. If those are on the menu, just keep my tab open!
Entertaining tip:The party always ends up in the kitchen. So, fill your sink up with ice and cold drinks, keep the snacks coming and just enjoy yourself. If the hostess is having a good time, so is everyone else!
Thing to do in your city: Technically, I live in what’s considered a village! It’s a small place located on the East Bay of Lake Michigan. If you’ve never visited the Great Lakes, then you have to go for a swim while you’re here - they’re not called fresh water oceans for nothing!
